Established in 1858, our township on Olmsted County, MN derives its name from the distinctive rock outcroppings and narrow gorges, or dells, that grace our landscape.

Covering an area of approximately 36 square miles, Rock Dell Township is home to a close-knit population of about 690 residents as of 2024.  Our community is characterized by its rich Scandinavian heritage, with many early settlers arriving from Norwegian communities in Wisconsin during the mid-19th century.

The South Fork of the Zumbro River meanders through our township, offering picturesque views and opportunities for outdoor recreation.  Residents and visitors alike appreciate the serene rural atmosphere, complemented by the natural beauty of our surroundings.
